Category-leading document automation joins the group's AI-native portfolio of mission-critical software.
London, 8 July 2026. Circeus has acquired Encodian, the leading independent document automation provider on the Microsoft Power Platform. The acquisition expands Circeus's AI-native portfolio of mission-critical software, bringing together document automation and AI engineering to help organisations automate more complex enterprise workflows.
Encodian by the numbers
- 3,000+ paying customers across 80+ geographies
- 250+ ready-to-use actions across nine Power Automate connectors
- One of the broadest document automation capabilities available on the Power Platform
- One of the few products in its category natively transactable through the Microsoft Marketplace
Encodian's flagship product, Flowr, automates document generation, conversion and manipulation natively inside Microsoft 365, Azure and the Power Platform. It is deeply embedded in customer workflows across healthcare, professional services, manufacturing and the public sector, with a defensible position inside Microsoft's own ecosystem. Microsoft is publicly targeting hundreds of millions of Power Platform users, so Encodian's addressable market is expanding largely independent of its own go-to-market spend.
AI builds on Encodian's platform
As AI agents become capable of carrying out increasingly complex work, they still need reliable systems to execute tasks inside enterprise environments. Generating documents, extracting information, converting files, applying templates and orchestrating document workflows all require software that organisations can trust and audit. Encodian provides those capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem today.
Circeus's role is to build on that base. Through the group's centralised AI platform, Circeus will invest in expanding the product's AI capabilities and developing richer agentic experiences on the ground Encodian has already established. Combining Encodian's proven document automation with the group's AI engineering creates a significant opportunity to help customers automate more sophisticated workflows while preserving the reliability and trust they depend on today.
"Encodian is the thesis in action. The most defensible software in the AI era is the software AI agents need to act through, not the software AI threatens to replace. Encodian already sits at the point of execution inside Microsoft 365, and that is exactly where we want to invest," said Gian Maria Gramondi, Founder and COO, Circeus.
What Circeus brings
Encodian now plugs into the group's centralised AI platform: a growing library of agents and skills built once and deployed across every company in the group. The model is proven, with measurable results across the portfolio:
- A growing share of net new bookings driven by AI-enabled features
- Consistent EBITDA uplift post-acquisition
- A majority of customer experience interactions automated in several products
- AI-assisted workflows materially raising developer productivity
Each improvement compounds across every company in the group. From day one, Encodian gains forward-deployed AI engineering, growth expertise and centralised back-office support. Every month the products get better, and every improvement is built once and deployed across the whole group. That is how a small team ships like a big one.
A permanent home
Circeus acquires to hold, not to flip. Jay Goodison, Encodian's founder and MD, continues to lead the business and the team that built it. The brand, the team and the customer relationships stay, and Circeus invests behind them for the long term.
"Joining Circeus lets us keep doing what we do best while adding AI engineering and reach we could not have built alone. Nothing changes for our customers except the pace at which the product improves," said Jay Goodison, Founder and Managing Director, Encodian.
The bigger picture
Circeus has completed 18 acquisitions over the last four years, serves more than 200,000 businesses worldwide and is backed by more than $220m of capital raised to date, with further acquisitions set to complete over the coming months.
Circeus is pleased to welcome the Encodian team as it continues building the next generation of AI-native, mission-critical software.
