What to know before you reach out
We acquire and scale mission-critical software businesses and modernise them for the AI era. A short answer to the questions we get asked most often.
Who we are
What is Circeus?
An AI-native technology holding company, founded in 2021 and headquartered in London. We own 18 software businesses serving 200,000+ enterprises across commerce operations, enterprise integration and automation infrastructure.
How are you different from private equity?
We hold permanently, not for a 4-7 year exit. We bring an in-house AI engineering team that ships into your product post-close. And we underwrite to defensibility, not to a model.
What we buy
What companies do you acquire?
B2B software where the product is mission-critical to the customer's workflow. Typical profile: $2-$15m ARR, profitable.
What do you not buy?
Sub-80% gross revenue retention, products that are not embedded in the workflows, unprofitable assets, or those without a high component of recurring revenues.
Process
What's the timeline?
Typically 10-16 weeks from first call to close. Indicative offer within 2-3 weeks of receiving materials. We have a 10+ person M&A and product team that will work to get you an answer fast.
What do you need to make an offer?
Three years of P&L, monthly customer-level revenue, customer concentration, headcount and cap table, and a deep dive on the products.
After close
What happens to the founder and team?
We are flexible on the founder's role depending on the situation of the business: stay-and-scale, phased handover, or clean exit. The team and brand stay.
How does AI integration work?
Our in-house AI team, Circle X, embeds engineers in your product organisation. They ship AI-native features, rebuild high-cost workflows with agents, and automate the back office, partnering directly with OpenAI and Anthropic on enterprise-scale deployments. We don't run pilots; every engagement ships to production.
